Frequently asked questions

What is FOIR?

Fixed Obligation to Income Ratio: the share of your net monthly income that can go towards all EMIs. Salaried applicants usually get 50%, higher earners up to 60–65%.

Is stamp duty included in the home loan?

No. Stamp duty, registration and interiors are not funded by the bank and must be paid from your own money.

Do self-employed people get lower eligibility?

Banks use your average profit from the last 2–3 years’ ITRs instead of salary, so eligibility depends on declared income.
