Equity funds have historically returned 10–14% a year over long periods, but there is no guarantee. Use a conservative figure for planning.

How are gains taxed?

Equity fund gains held over a year are taxed at 12.5% above ₹1.25 lakh a year; short-term gains at 20%.

These figures are estimates for planning only and are not financial advice. Actual returns, rates and charges depend on your bank, fund or scheme. Check the latest rates before you invest or borrow.
