How to write a quotation that wins the job

  1. Itemise everything. Break the work into clear lines (material, labour, delivery, installation) so the customer can see where the money goes.
  2. Show GST separately. Business customers want to see the tax they can claim back. Use the right HSN or SAC code.
  3. Set a validity date. Material prices change. 15–30 days is common.
  4. Spell out payment terms. For example, 50% advance and the balance on delivery, with your bank or UPI details.
  5. Follow up within 48 hours. Most quotes are lost to silence, not price.
